The Yard: Location

Welcome to Troy, a city located in New York within the Greater Albany region, home to a population of over one million people. Troy is a historic city, once a leading economic hub during the 19th and early 20th centuries, ranking as the 4th wealthiest city in the US at the turn of the 20th century. Its thriving transportation and wheel manufacturing companies contributed to that, now commemorated at the Iron Work Museum. Troy is home to prestigious institutions like Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), the oldest private engineering university in the US, and Russel Sage College which was founded in 1916.

Since 2014, the Troy Redevelopment Foundation has actively been working on its comprehensive city plan, resulting in a resurgence of restaurants and entertainment venues. Supported by institutions like RPI, the city is fostering a high-tech sector aligning with its development goals.
